It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elder Maurice Valentine, beloved brother of Mrs. Rosita Gabriel and brother-in-law of our President, Garth Gabriel. Elder Valentine passed away on October 20, 2023. Our hearts are heavy with grief as we come together to support our leader and his family during this difficult time.

As a pastor, administrator and church leader, his presence will be missed. Even more so, as a husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, the impact of his loss is immeasurable. 

Let us remember that in Lake Region Conference, we are not just colleagues, but a family who supports one another in times of sorrow and joy. We take comfort in the hope of our soon coming Savior, who will wipe all tears from our eyes. 

Please keep Elder Valentine’s wife and the entire Valentine and Gabriel families in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this trying time.
